PERSPECTIVES Team Edward Engoron, F.C.S.I.,
Principal Ed Engoron is President of PERSPECTIVES/The Consulting Group, Inc., a company which specializes in strategic planning, concept and product development for the food and hospitality industries. He began his career following college as an art director/director in the television and motion picture industry. He is credited with the production, direction or design of over 600 commercials, 200 television shows and 15 major features. Mr. Engoron entered the field of restaurant design and operations in 1969 as a partner in The Warehouse Restaurant in Marina del Rey, California. In 1970, he joined Lawry's Foods, Inc. as Director of Marketing and Design. Mr. Engoron was Founder and President of The Customs House Restaurants, Fanny's Fish Markets, The Fish Markets, The Palm Grill, The China Rose and Sweet Deceit ® ... all unique and distinctly different concepts. Mr. Engoron has been President of PERSPECTIVES since its founding. Mr. Engoron was Executive Vice President for TGI Friday's and is currently an active member in the Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI), International Food, Wine & Travel Writers Association (IFWTWA), Chaine des Rotisseurs, Southern California Culinary Guild, International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) and International Foodservice Manufacturers Association (IFMA). Mr. Engoron has written a cookbook, Stolen Secrets, writes for Let's Talk Food!TM;, the newsletter of The Super FoodiesTM;, and has hosted radio and television talk, food and cooking shows in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, San Diego and Dallas. Mr. Engoron also co-hosted The Super FoodiesTM;, a nationally syndicated radio show. Mr. Engoron has traveled to 107 countries throughout the world and is active in the Society of Motion Picture and Television Art Directors (SMPAD). He has served as a member of the Board of Governors, Los Angeles County Arboreta and Botanic Gardens as well as County Commissioner, Marin County, Chairman Fine Arts Commission. He was also presented the San Mateo County First Citizen Award.
Joan Vieweger, F.C.S.I., Principal Joan Vieweger became associated with PERSPECTIVES/The Consulting Group, Inc. in the Fall of 1986, providing free-lance research services on a project-by-project basis. During the Summer of 1987, Ms. Vieweger formally joined the company as Executive Vice President. Her responsibilities include the design, implementation and analysis of the company's primary and secondary research projects as well as strategic planning, market development and concept positioning analysis. Prior to her involvement with PERSPECTIVES, Ms. Vieweger held the position of Director of Sales and Marketing for CREST - An NPD Group Company. As such, Ms. Vieweger was responsible for the sales and marketing of the company's syndicated and customized research services. She was also instrumental in the development of the CREST Target Market Development Network program... a management tool designed to identify and locate consumer demand on a national, market or site level for expanding restaurant concepts and products. During her tenure with CREST, Ms. Vieweger also held the position of Project Director, managing the day-to-day details of the company's consulting projects, including the program development and implementation for the International Foodservice Manufacturers Association's COEX (Chain Operators Exchange) meeting... the foodservice industry's premiere educational forum. Ms. Vieweger studied Marketing and Business at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and William Rainey Harper College in Palatine, Illinois. She is an active member of the International Foodservice Manufacturers Association (IFMA), Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI), Chaine des Rotisseurs, Southern California Culinary Guild and International Food, Wine & Travel Writers Association (IFWTWA). Ms. Vieweger was the co-host of The Super FoodiesTM, a nationally syndicated radio show.
Jonathan Rogan, Executive Chef / Director of Research & Development Jonathan Rogan is the Executive Chef and Director of Research and Development for Perspectives/ The Consulting Group, Inc. Jon channels his creativity and attention to detail into menu creation and recipe development in The California Kitchen®. His passion for quality and freshness infuse his approach for product formulation and testing. Mr. Rogan also has comprehensive experience in kitchen staff training and quality control. Prior to joining the Perspectives™ team, Chef Rogan honed his extensive culinary skills for over twenty years working in very diverse areas of food and beverage businesses including: Good Earth Restaurants , California Pizza Kitchen, Gelson's Markets, Square One Restaurant and Moose McGillycuddy's Pub & Café . Chef Rogan also has more than ten years of hands-on product development experience in senior culinary positions with such notable companies as Huxtables' Kitchens, Sizzler USA, Webvan Group and Chi-Chi's Mexican Restaurants. Chef Rogan's impressive culinary journey officially began when he graduated with honors in Culinary Arts from the highly regarded Western Culinary Institute in Portland, Oregon. He went even further in his pursuit of gourmet greatness by continuing his education at The Culinary Institute of American-Greystone Campus in Napa Valley, as well as Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, successfully completing eight highly advanced and prestigious programs. Jon is a member in good standing of the Research Chef's Association , as well as holding a prominent membership with the Institute of Food Technologists (Foodservice Division) and Restaurant Business Magazine (Advisory Board). Chef Rogan is also NRA ServSafe® Certified. With his amazing mixture of experience and zeal, Chef Jonathan Rogan is a perfect addition to the Perspectives™ Team! |
